Table 2: Mandatory Components: Providing Values

Component Specifies Restrictions
Share name A name (up to 20 alphanumeric characters) for the shared directory. 

This is the name that domain users map a network drive to.

Must be unique. Do not use any of the following as a share name:

COMM           PRINT
DEV                QUEUES
MAILSLOT    SEM
1PIPE             SHAREMEM

Path name The absolute path of a directory to be shared (including the drive id., which is c:).  For example, the path to a directory called project1, which is a subdirectory of market, is:

c:/market/project1

Table 3: Optional Components: Providing Values

Component Specifies Restrictions
Users The maximum number of users who can simultaneously access the share.                      
Unlimited The maximum number of users who can simultaneously access the share based on the number of licenses.  Can not exceed the number of ASU licenses.
Remark A comment about the share. Remark must be enclosed in quotation marks.
