Advisory Information

LAST UPDATE: 2009-12-01

When a file in AdvFS domain is being truncated using truncate(2) in such a way that the new EOF (End of file) falls in a frag, truncate(2) inadvertently overwrites the last character of the file with a NULL character.

This problem exists on both standalones and clusters.

The following supported versions are affected:

  • HP Tru64 UNIX V5.1B-5

HP is releasing the following patch kit publicly for use by any customer. The kit uses dupatch to install.
